Hi guys, I don't know if you need to make this post. This is my first 7 day fps. I'm probably going to fail the 7DFPS, but I guess loosing is fun so I will try anyway. To stop failing I have devised simple plan: 1. Limit scope, mostly going to be doing a Doom clone. 2. Don't add any ideas after three days of the competition. 3. Make crappy stuff. 4. No crazy ideas. My general plan is to try and get a Doom clone up and running in unity as quick as possible. Something that is a complete game, which I can build stuff into. Then, it just adding gameplay features like mobs. Now the problem is apart from a doom clone. I don't know what I'm going to add that is good. All I have is combat should have a stamina bar. Thats pretty crappy. However, I think I can work something out of it. So I'm trying to focus on what I call interesting combat. Which, is a bit annoying as most people would have flashy gimmicky twist.

My advice: so long as you've got something playable that you can iterate on, implement as many crazy ideas as you can! :D Good luck!

Sounds like a solid goal, I wish you all the best with it. Everyone loves Doom, not sure you need too many "flashy gimmicks". Make your weapons fun and let the rest follow.
