Sound designer going developer....
I've been working in game development for a few years now, mostly in audio but a bit of test as well. Recently I have been getting involved in a lot more coding with unity3d and have been looking for ways to learn a bit more. I'm planning on taking part in the 7DFPS but need to get some basics right so I'm not going in blind, what better way to get prepared than be seeing what i can do in a day.
I have no 3d modelling experience and my goals are pretty simple:
- get some basic geometry into Unity to create a level to move around in
- have some character controller mechanics in place and feeling right
- Creating some physical objects for knocking around and prototyping some gameplay elements
My end goal for the 7DFPS is create a highly detailed audio environment that can work well with a single highly polished gameplay mechanic so I want to be able to prototype a few different ideas quite quickly.
