We're glad to be participating again this year! Making Armed & Dangerous
last year was our first real game jam experience, and it got us hooked. Earlier this year we did The Aurora Wager
for 7DRL, which was way more successful than we thought it would be. Our team is a bit bigger this time around, and I'm curious to see what we can achieve!
We've had a bunch of ideas for this Jam, among them were:
- Surfing (Sports Sim)
- Shared Perspective (Two players, one pair of eyes)
- Ghost in the Shell (Virtual reality, hacking)
- Paparazzo (Snap picture, violate privacy, get rich)
Most were deemed too complex (lots of interacting subsystems to build), but the theme of photography stuck with us. In the end we decided that good photography mechanics would be wasted on a Paparazzo sim, and are now looking to wildlife photography for inspiration.
Expect lots of fiddling with old analog cameras, quietly stalking animals to get a good snap, developing your shots back in your cabin, and finding out had the exposure completely wrong!
