7DFPS ...
7DFPS is over!
Thank you for taking part in this amazing event! Lots of cool games have been made over this week and we hope to see some of them being developed further! Once again we managed to show that FPS is more than a casual genre and that there's a lot that haven't been done! I'm proud of all of you! Those who made an FPS in 7 days, those who started early, and those who still work on their games! And those that did not manage to finish at all (that includes me). Now it's time to play all the games and have a proper developmentless weekend, should the weather be kind enough! Play some games!

Thanks for organising this guys - really gave me a kick up the arse to get game coding again. Really looking forward to trying some of these games out... maybe time for 1 or 2 before bed :)

Same thing LokisSword, started my multiplayer game from todays moring, and finished it today also :). Im 14 ( and a show off )

You... did not finish the game yourself? Whoa, it means that my project wasn't much of a failure then XD
DryTear says...
Rabbitlancer, me and my friend finished it in a day :)

thanks, that was a pretty tense week for us, but it was very motivating! We will for sure participate again next year :D

My brain has run a marathon; I already feel smarter! Quick, ask me something!

@klicktock A grandson has made a time machine and travelled back to the past to murder his grandfather. How many nanoseconds will pass before a time paradox will happen? ^.^

Great jam, and I loved the website. One small request for next time: if a poster has a "game", automatically add a link to the game download/install on every post they make. (at the moment, you have to: 1. click the author name. 2. click the game. 3. scroll down to find the link, and click it) I found it tedious to keep manually typing (with typos) the full URL + A HREF, and I noticed a lot of people didn't realise they had to do the A HREF by hand, so you get these plain text URLs :(. ... after all that, sometimes you find they've made it single-platform only, and you can't even run it :(. Would be great to have the download/install icons at top right of every post, automatically Also: would be great if you showed a "heart" for the *GAME* rather than the *POST* - I almost never cared about the posts, but reading a post made me want to favourite that game for later, and it was a lot of hassle to do. ...then you'd find that the person hadn't created their game entry yet.

I'd like to second tmachineorg's suggestions. This is the best game jam site I've come across though, great job! :D

@tmachineorg : 1: I like the idea of games being accessible from the posts, we had this last year actually, it might show up later today in some form. 2: I just made any link pasted in without the tags automatically become a link. That should remove tedium, and auto make links of everything that isn't - already. 3: Better sorting is most definitely on it's way a bit later today my time, so keep an eye out. 4: The hearts on games were a bit broken, but they are fixed now, and will be better integrated into the profile and more. Also, a bit later today! Thanks for the feedback , and we are glad you had a good time!

for the above, 1: Next to any post in short form, by the author name, there is a tiny gamepad for each game that user has created! 3: Sorting is in already for games, provisionally, and will improve soon as well, again.

Thanks for putting on this game jam, it feels great finishing something. I've dozen upon dozens of prototypes that I spent between 1 and 7 days on and didn't have a reason or the motivation to finish/work on further after I'd coded the thing that drew me to the idea. I like the little gamepad icon link that's been added, but one little suggestion which probably affects almost no one besides me: can you make it link to the 7D/most recent game posted :). At the moment mine links to my 7 hour game instead of my 7 day game.
_discovery says...
@MattCarr it should actually link to both, but if you don't see that then that is a bug I will tend to! Glad you had a good time and that you got a lot out of it.
I think this was great. A great challenge to all!
Ludum Dare games release the source code of their games. Any chance for 7DFPS to do that?
_discovery says...
@PuzzledPanther that is up to the developers (it is not required by the challenge)!
