more...The end stretch
So, my first 7DFPS ended in shambles - lost the HDD I was using ~24 hours before deadline, and the last backup I had on another drive (lucky!) was from the first 24 hours (not-so-lucky!).
So it was a scramble to get everything all together and in any semblance of a 'game', and in the end, it's not that great.
Definitely no where near as good as pre-crash.
But I committed to the jam, so I finished it before the deadline regardless of data loss and technological tragedy.
Here it is: http://pheonise.itch.io/fly-on-the-wall
At the very least, flying around as a drone is pretty fun, and the drone-mounted-camera-with-night-vision turned out pretty nicely imo!
more...Drone model done!
I'm not a modeller, but I'm pretty happy with how this turned out! Since you'll be the drone itself, it doesn't need to be high-quality or textured - it's purpose is basically just so you can see the drone's shadow.
Propeller is probably going to be replaced at some point (just a transparent quad right now).
Guess its time for AI now!
more...Coming along nicely!
Movement (w/ controller support), 2 vision types (might add a 3rd?), and 'interaction' have all been completed. Level design is... Well, I'm not a level designer, so it's pretty bland.
Fortunately the setting (A warehouse) is bland by nature, so it's not a deal-breaker.
Still need to start/complete: Enemies/AI, win/lose-states, scoring(?), levels, VO.
Starting work on the actual 'game' part now!
Was starting on a small demo just a few hours ago, when someone mentioned they were doing the 7DFPS.
Completely forgot about it!
Now I have a perfect excuse to work on this demo, maybe turn it into something more ;)
I'll be using Unity3D, Paint.NET, 3DS Max, and Audacity.
Good luck to everyone participating! It's gonna be fun!
